About the Project
The USAID Tanzania Comprehensive Client-Centered Health Program HIV/TB Southern is a five-year initiative (November 9, 2021, to September 30, 2026) aimed at improving HIV and TB services across Tanzania. The program focuses on enhancing health outcomes in the six regions of Iringa, Lindi, Morogoro, Mtwara, Njombe, and Ruvuma, supporting a total of 43 councils within these regions.
The program is led by Deloitte Consulting Limited as the main contractor, with technical support provided by Management and Development for Health (MDH) and T-MARC Tanzania. Implementation is carried out in collaboration with local government authorities (LGAs), health facilities, community-based organisations (CBOs), faith-based organisations (FBOs), and civil society organisations (CSOs) in the supported regions.
Mission:
The program aims to improve health outcomes by increasing the demand for and utilisation of high-quality, integrated HIV and TB prevention, care, and treatment services. Special attention is given to youth and children, using a client-centred approach. The program achieves its goals through the following objectives:
- Improving Access: Ensuring equitable access to quality, client-centred HIV and TB services for communities.
- Enhancing Capacity: Strengthening individual capacity for adopting positive health-seeking behaviours.
- Strengthening the Enabling Environment: Enhancing the systems and structures required to deliver effective HIV and TB services.
Through these efforts, the program seeks to contribute to the national effort in combatting HIV and TB, ensuring that key populations, including youth and children, benefit from comprehensive health interventions.
