PUBLIC NOTICE
MDH Statement on the Report by the Global Fund Office of Inspector General (OIG)
Dear Community Members and Partners,
The Management and Development for Health (MDH) is a non-profit organization dedicated to ensuring healthcare access and equity. MDH is committed to integrity, transparency, and service to the people of Tanzania. In light of the findings of the recent investigation and report by the Global Fund’s Office of the Inspector General (OIG), the MDH Board of Directors convened an extraordinary meeting to take swift action. Effective on 13th June 2025 and immediately, the MDH Board has asked the MDH Chief Executive Officer, Dr. David Masambe Sando, to step down from the CEO position pending further inquiry. These actions are in line with the governance and administrative procedures of MDH and those of our partners, both internal and external. The MDH Board has therefore appointed an Acting CEO, Mr. Damasco Peter Mwakipokile, with immediate effect as the interim Chief Executive Officer and launched a full internal and external review of its systems. These steps are part of a broader plan to strengthen MDH internal controls, improve administration and governance, which, among others, entails the proper use of donor funds. MDH would like to assure the public that services will continue uninterrupted and that MDH remains committed to its mission of improving the health of communities across Tanzania. MDH appreciates your understanding and continued support as it works diligently to restore trust.
